The Interesting World of Graphology

Graphology is the scientific name for handwriting analysis. We could not have put it more simply than this and yet it is a fascinating science which leads one to discover the multiple dimensions in which the human mind works and takes us into the depths of the human nature and broadens our understanding and hones our perspective of mankind.
A person’s true personality is known only to himself or herself. The politics of all kinds of relationships is such that no one reveals their true motives and thoughts to someone else, no matter how intense their proximity. Everyone has a few facets to their nature which they prefer keeping to themselves, however, unknowingly, we leave an imprint of the working of our minds every time we take a pen to paper and write something. As any student of graphology would tell you, each one of us has a unique and distinct personality which reveals itself in our unique and distinct handwriting; this is because our thought patterns form various neural pathways which reveal themselves through the movement of the nerves and muscles which control the act of writing.
Graphology or handwriting analysis actually studies the handwriting samples of an individual and then charts out the constituents of the individual’s personality, thought patterns and motivations and even the trigger-points which lead to the individual reacting or responding in a specific manner. Let it be mentioned here that this level of analysis is the forte of those who have been practicing graphology with dedication for a long, long time.
All other forms of personality assessment call for the involvement of the person being assessed and it may result in the person putting up barriers to his personality and thereby distorting the assessment outcome. There is no such fear with graphology because this study of handwriting is a very unobtrusive manner of getting to know a person and that too very well, as it does not require the one whose handwriting is being analyzed to by physically present or even involved in the process
Over time, handwriting analysis has proved itself to be very useful in the following areas:
1.       Understanding the minds of children and young people who are not able to put their thoughts and feelings into appropriate words.
2.       Provide career and vocational guidance to young person’s which are in keeping with their personalities.
3.       Help understand partners, colleagues, companions, friends and relatives better so as to have more productive relationships.
4.       Enable the recruitment of candidates have the emotional skill-sets which are compatible for the job under consideration.
5.       Personality awareness for those individuals who are striving to evolve as better personalities by eliminating or reducing their negative traits.

Graphology is therefore an extremely empowering and useful skill to learn.
